How to Apply

Please submit your application through the Irish College of GPs Vidatum software  four weeks prior to the meeting, i.e by the deadline submission date. On receipt of your submission, you will be notified of receipt by email. If you do not receive confirmation within three working days please contact us on 01-6763705. 

As of December 2025, a pilot alternative REC review pathway for non-complex studies has been established. These applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Suitable applications include, anonymous cross-sectional surveys, stakeholder or qualitative studies involving professionals and single-site retrospective chart reviews. Further information can be found here. The committee reserves the right to reassign unsuitable applications for review through the traditional pathway at the next available meeting.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure the online submission is complete i.e contains all relevant documents and is received by the REC administrator, who will be notified of all online submissions, by the advertised closing date. Please see the Irish College of GPs Local Committee Checklist below (under 'Application Documents') to ensure you have completed and submitted all required documents. 

Application Fee – Non-clinical trial applications (based on status of PI)

  • No fee for non-funded individual member's project or trainee projects
  • €350 for individual member with funding and for not-for-profit organisations
  • €600 for all other applicants
