Cork Training Scheme

The Cork GP Training Scheme offers a rich and well-rounded experience designed to prepare future general practitioners for the full scope of modern primary care. Trainees benefit from a wide variety of hospital posts and GP placements, encompassing urban and rural settings and a diverse patient demographic.

Day Release Information


Location:

St. Mary’s Health Campus, Gurranabraher Rd, Gurranabraher, Cork T23 V09X 

Days:  

Years 1 & 2 (SHO half day): Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. 

Years 3 & 4 (Reg full day): Wednesday or Thursday morning and afternoon.


Hospital Sites & Locations

  • Cork University Hospital, Cork University Maternity Hospital, Mercy University Hospital, Marymount University Hospital & Hospice, South Infirmary/Victoria University Hospital, St. Stephens Hospital. 

  • Mallow General Hospital

  • Located primarily in County Cork, with some in Counties Kerry, Limerick and Waterford.
