About Us
The South West GP training scheme aims to prepare trainees for an unknown future! We aim to foster independent thought, self-motivation and a focus on the holistic care of ourselves and our patients. We are a close-knit, caring scheme where we’ll try to find the best in everyone. Most of our hospital training is in the increasingly dynamic UHK in Tralee, and our trainers are predominantly Kerry-based, with some encroachment on Cork and Limerick.
Mission statement:
The South West GP Training Scheme spans the awe-inspiring mountains and peninsulas of the South West of Ireland. Our approach to GP Training draws on the power of community and our natural environment to heal and soothe. We invoke the traditional image of the GP as an intrinsic, holistic and empowering force within the community.
