North Dublin City Training Scheme

The North Dublin GP Training Scheme (NDCGP), established in 2009, is the first international program dedicated to training GPs for work in deprived and marginalized areas. With a GP-to-patient ratio of 1:2500, the scheme addresses the challenge of recruiting GPs in these regions. Research indicates that GP training schemes positively impact recruitment and retention. Unlike the three schemes in South Dublin, NDCGP operates in the North at the Mater Hospital and Blanchardstown Hospital.
