The Irish College of GPs has launched a new GP Leadership Academy, aimed at developing a network of GPs to drive change and shape the future of primary care in Ireland. Leadership Academy, designed in partnership with Crowe Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, and Mason Hayes & Curran law firm, will teach leadership skills, strategic insights, and practical learning.

The Irish College of GPs held its Annual Conference and General Meeting in Cork, focusing on "Positive Leadership in General Practice." Over 300 GPs attended, and the conference featured clinical sessions on Adult ADHD, Polypharmacy, Women's Health, Dementia, and Obesity.

Applications are invited from GMS General Practitioners working in Health Care Region West & North-West (Counties Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan) who are interested in becoming Trainers with the Sligo GP Training Scheme. 

Irish College of GPs highlights the central role of primary care in building mental resilience in a changing world. World Family Doctor Day 2025 (19th May 2025) also emphasises the importance of doctors' awareness of their own mental health.
