International motions passed at the College AGM in 2025

Four motions (listed below) related to international matters were passed at our Annual General Meeting in May. With regard to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, a letter has been sent to An Taoiseach (PDF, 205KB).

International motions passed at the College AGM in 2025

The College to release a statement calling for the immediate release of all Palestinian and international healthcare workers that continue to be unlawfully detained by Israel.

The College to publicly request the Irish government to reverse its decision to endorse the IHRA definition of anti-semitism to protect ICGP members who are actively advocating for Healthcare colleagues in Gaza and the suffering civilian population there. 

That the College continue to highlight the plight of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied territories and calls on the Israeli government to guarantee safe passage for humanitarian aid and workers and the reconstruction of a viable healthcare system with safety guarantees for all medical workers.

The College, in accordance with International Law, will undertake not to recognise qualifications issued by institutions based in settlements in occupied territories deemed illegal under international law, and not to recognise training undertaken in such settlements.
