HSE National Infectious Disease Isolation Facility, St. Ita’s, Portrane, Co. Dublin is a 43-bed, 24-hour facility for self-caring individuals with infectious diseases who are aged 18 years and older and who are unable to isolate in their own environment. Where family circumstances require the isolation of babies and children, this can be accommodated once the minors are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Prescription Charge Exemption for International Protection Applicants Living in IPAS accommodation.
IPAs, since the 8th September 2015, are exempt from paying prescription charges payable for prescribed drugs, medicines and appliances reimbursed under the GMS Scheme once they have full eligibility, i.e., a valid medical card, living in Direct Provision.
There have been some queries regarding IPAs who have identified themselves to HSE staff as unaccompanied minors but living in IPAS accommodation. In accordance with Section 14 of the International Protection Act 2015 (PDF, 853 KB), a child under the age of 18, arriving at a port of entry or at the International Protection Office (IPO), and who is not in the custody of an adult, will be referred to the Child and Family Agency (TUSLA). Feedback from IPAS is that Tusla completes an assessment on these occasions, they can email the IPO at IPOReceptionandFingerprinting@ipo.gov.ie.
