The Irish College of GPs Leadership Academy equips GPs with leadership skills for a complex healthcare environment. Now entering its second year, the programme focuses on developing strategic, managerial, and communication skills, enhancing professional impact, and fostering a network of like-minded GP leaders.
The programme gives GPs practical tools, knowledge, and confidence to lead effectively, both within their own practices and in the wider healthcare system.
Learning takes place in a collaborative environment, where participants share real leadership experiences with peers and work through common challenges together. The result is stronger leadership capability and a lasting network of like-minded GPs.
What previous participants said
“Have absolutely had a ball. So proud to be amongst the first academy cohort. So proud to be a member of our College and so proud to hopefully get involved in it in the future.”
“There is something for everyone. Sessions about money for those who prefer a more business-like approach, and sessions about communication and personality types – my own favourite.”
Who it's for
The Leadership Academy is open to College members, including:
- Established GPs looking to refine their leadership skills and strengthen their management capabilities.
